20 weeks

Well – on Friday Eric and I found out that we are having a….BOY! We are SO excited! We cannot wait to meet our little man. Friday was a great day. The twenty week ultrasound is very cool and we got to see his arms, legs, hands, feet, spine, heart, lungs, bladder and identifying boy part :) He is healthy and growing and already about ten inches long and weighs about a pound. I am halfway through and very anxious for his arrival – come on August 28th!

Once we found out, we were excited to tell our parents. We bought little blue teddy bear blanket type things to give to my parents and Eric’s to keep at their houses for when baby visits. We stopped by their houses on Friday afternoon and they were all very glad to hear our news. Since Sunday was Easter and we would be seeing our extended families, Eric and I made “we’re having a boy” cookies to take to both family celebrations. Overall – a wonderful and exciting weekend. Let the nursery decorating begin!

he's the size of a cantaloupe!

my lovely baby bump

I am almost to the five month mark already and I can't believe how quickly this time has gone. Eric and I get to find out the gender on Friday and I seriously feel like it's Christmas - I am so excited. I have read a lot about what they do at the 20 week ultrasound and I just can't wait to see our baby. I have also read about all of the 'old wives tale' ways to tell if baby is a boy or a girl and if they are true, it seems like we're having a girl; guess we'll find out on Friday!
Until then, I will share weeks 16-19 with you :) Baby has definitely grown therefore so have I - hello maternity pants, goodbye pre-pregnancy clothes. I have really enjoyed being pregnant and these last few weeks have been even more special since I have started to feel the baby move. Throughout the day I feel little kicks and punches and it is seriously such an awesome feeling. I can't wait until the baby is a bit bigger so Eric can feel and see the movement too.
