4 months

He is such a big boy! These four months have been so amazing and I can't believe how quickly he's growing up. Eric and I were at Target yesterday and couldn't believe how little the newborn size clothes were and that Luke was that tiny not so long ago.
He has rolled over a few times over the past month and is definitely teething; he tries to eat everyone's fingers if they get within reach :)
We had such a great Christmas - he is a spoiled little guy! So excited to see what the next month will bring!

3 Months!!

Our little man is 3 months old already. He is seriously the cutest baby ever :) He loves to sit up (always) so he can see everything. I am predicting he'll be some kind of musician - the boy loves music! If he is crying and I sing "head, shoulders, knees and toes", "the itsy bitsy spider" or "patty cake", he will stop crying and smile.
He is very close to rolling over, should be any day now!
I can't get enough of him and it makes my heart melt every time he gives me that big dimply smile - being a mom is the best :) (Eric loves being a dad, too!)
As you can see, those fingers are constantly in his mouth!

Holy cow time is flying. Luker is already two months old. He is such a sweet baby. He is very smiley and has the cutest laugh :) his little personality is starting to show through and it's wonderful watching him grow and change.

(notice how his feet are a little blurry? that would be because he is always wiggling!)

One month ago today, on August 29th, Lukas Oliver made his grand appearance at 6:56 pm weighing in at 7 lbs 14 ounces and measuring 20.5 inches long. What an amazing day. I can't believe he is already a month old. Time is flying! His first month has been a whirlwind of sleepless nights, countless visitors, baby cuddles and kisses, and a lot of time spent staring in awe at the miracle we created. Eric and I are head over heels for this little guy and we are loving watching him grow :)

weeks 35, 36, 37

I am now considered 'full term' and it is awesome! At the doctor last week I was already 70% effaced and .5 cm dilated. I go back tomorrow and I am excited to see if I have progressed at all. My doctor gave me a huge wake up call when she said that since things have already started moving along, he could come anytime! That caused Eric and me to finish packing the hospital bag, put it in the car and install car seats in both of our cars. We are now officially ready! I have a shower this Sunday and I am hoping nothing big happens until after the shower, otherwise I guess he will just be coming with me to it :)

weeks 32, 33, 34

August 28th is getting so close and I am so ready. I am now 8 ½ months pregnant and feel as large as a house. I’m pretty sure I have the pregnancy waddle down pretty well. Sleep is truly a thing of the past and will be for several years, I’m sure. I guess not being able to sleep at the end of pregnancy is just nature’s way of preparing you for a newborn and no sleep, right? J
I had my first baby shower this past weekend and it was great. We got some good stuff for the nursery and lots of cute clothes. I have another one this coming weekend and I am very excited!
The nursery is almost finished and I will post pictures soon. For now – here are pictures of weeks 32, 33, and 34. WARNING: I am HUGE.

weeks 28-31

Holy heat it has been hot out! Being [very] pregnant during these hot days has been a challenge but really has not been too bad. We keep the ac set nice and low at home and luckily my office building keeps it cool as well. So, between nice air conditioned rooms and floating in pools, my summer pregnancy has gone well so far.
Eric and I recently enjoyed a mini vacation to Tennessee for a few days and had a lot of fun. It is amazing how many people ask when I am due and whether we are having a boy or a girl. At one point, Eric and I were walking back to our hotel when a man and a woman stopped and the woman said 'excuse me, any chance you're carrying a boy in there?' Why, yes I am! - how did she know?!
The nursery is finally fully underway and I love it. Often times I just stand in there and look around at everything - I can't wait until he is here! He has been getting the hiccups a lot [in fact he has them as I am typing this :)] and the doctor said that is a good sign of healthy functioning lungs. He remains a constantly wiggly little guy and I can't wait to meet him in only two more months!
Below are pictures from weeks 28-31. Week 29 was when Eric and I were in Gatlinburg so it is a little different than our usual pictures....

baby bump

I am now in my third trimester and I am amazed with how quickly this time has gone. I am beginning to mentally prepare myself for the big event in three months. I’m sure the summer will fly by and baby will be here before we know it. I scheduled our childbirth class so that Eric and I will be prepared for the delivery. Eric is finally finished with school on Thursday and the switch from office to nursery can begin!
This past weekend I caved and bought a maternity bathing suit (black one piece with the expandable tummy section) in order to float in the pool. I decided since it was so incredibly hot I would sacrifice style for comfort J
Baby is busy growing and is currently about 15 inches long from head to toe and weighs 2 pounds! Below are weeks 24-27…

my bump

I am now showing enough that strangers make sure to open doors for me and offer to help me carry things. Baby is growing perfectly and is constantly wiggling. Eric says that baby is practicing his dance moves :) I find myself sitting there just staring at my belly watching the movements. Pregnancy is pretty great even though I feel like I am gaining weight everywhere. Even my feet have gotten bigger. Really? Oh well, just means I get to buy some new shoes :)
Eric and I have started working on the nursery and we registered last weekend. It was a little overwhelming realizing all of the stuff we will need but I can't wait to get his nursery ready for him! Ok, on to the bump pictures. Below are weeks 21, 22 and 23. Look how big I'm getting!

20 weeks

Well – on Friday Eric and I found out that we are having a….BOY! We are SO excited! We cannot wait to meet our little man. Friday was a great day. The twenty week ultrasound is very cool and we got to see his arms, legs, hands, feet, spine, heart, lungs, bladder and identifying boy part :) He is healthy and growing and already about ten inches long and weighs about a pound. I am halfway through and very anxious for his arrival – come on August 28th!

Once we found out, we were excited to tell our parents. We bought little blue teddy bear blanket type things to give to my parents and Eric’s to keep at their houses for when baby visits. We stopped by their houses on Friday afternoon and they were all very glad to hear our news. Since Sunday was Easter and we would be seeing our extended families, Eric and I made “we’re having a boy” cookies to take to both family celebrations. Overall – a wonderful and exciting weekend. Let the nursery decorating begin!

my lovely baby bump

I am almost to the five month mark already and I can't believe how quickly this time has gone. Eric and I get to find out the gender on Friday and I seriously feel like it's Christmas - I am so excited. I have read a lot about what they do at the 20 week ultrasound and I just can't wait to see our baby. I have also read about all of the 'old wives tale' ways to tell if baby is a boy or a girl and if they are true, it seems like we're having a girl; guess we'll find out on Friday!
Until then, I will share weeks 16-19 with you :) Baby has definitely grown therefore so have I - hello maternity pants, goodbye pre-pregnancy clothes. I have really enjoyed being pregnant and these last few weeks have been even more special since I have started to feel the baby move. Throughout the day I feel little kicks and punches and it is seriously such an awesome feeling. I can't wait until the baby is a bit bigger so Eric can feel and see the movement too.

Baby is the size of an avocado!

Baby is the size of an onion!

Baby is the size of a sweet potato!

Baby is the size of a mango! - 6 inches...and check out those sweet maternity pants ;)

my bump

So I am now officially 15 weeks pregnant and I am finally starting to hear people say "I see a baby bump" yay!! I am to the point where my regular clothes are a bit too tight, so this past weekend I bought my first few items of maternity clothing - I am pretty excited about elastic waist band pants! I am only a few weeks away from being able to find out the sex of the baby and I can not wait. We have several people already making predictions on whether they think it will be a boy or a girl, maybe we should start taking bets?
Eric and I are house hunting right now and if all goes as planned we will be in our first home this spring. I already have so many ideas for the nursery (and how I want to decorate other rooms as well). It is kind of perfect because I will be in that nesting stage when we have a new house to decorate. Needless to say we are busy in the Lohbeck house right now!
Below are pictures from weeks 13, 14 and 15, enjoy :)

We Have a Bun in the Oven!

Eric & I are very excited to share that Baby Lohbeck is due to arrive August 28, 2012! This is, by far, the most wonderful surprise of all. We started documenting my growing baby bump at week ten when I started showing slightly (Eric said he still doesn’t really see anything, but I definitely do!) So, below are weeks 10, 11 & 12 along with our very first baby picture – a sonogram from week 8.
Pregnancy is such an amazing miracle. I will say – not all of it has been enjoyable and I have had some rough days, but watching and feeling my body change and knowing our baby is developing is, without question, the best experience. I anxiously look forward to the upcoming weeks and months and I will post updates on here to share. Thanks for all of the support and love we have received so far from our family and friends J
